Non-injection methods of skin biorevitalization

Non-injection methods of skin biorevitalization (from the Greek “bios” – life and the Latin “revitalis” – revitalization) – is the process of restoring and activating skin functions at the histological level.

  • restores water balance
  • improves cellular activity and strengthens skin structures
  • restores a healthy appearance
  • slows down aging processes

What is biorevitalization for?

  • Increased collagen and elastin production
  • Acceleration of cell renewal
  • Normalization of melanocyte activity
  • Increase in hyaluronic acid
  • Reduction of oxidative stress
  • Restoration of microcirculation
  • Normalization of sebaceous gland function
  • Restoration of mitochondria
  • Increase in fibroblasts and other dermal cells
  • Control of telomere length

Restoring fibroblast function

  • Extracellular matrix (ECM) synthesis – Production of collagen, elastin, proteoglycans to maintain tissue structure.
  • ECM remodeling – Destruction of old matrix and its renewal through matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs).
  • Regulation of inflammation – Secretion of cytokines and chemokines to recruit immune cells.
  • Wound healing – Proliferation, migration and differentiation into myofibroblasts to repair damage.
  • Angiogenesis – Stimulation of new vessel growth through VEGF.
  • Immunomodulation – Effect on the activity of macrophages, T-lymphocytes and other immune cells.

Restoration of the dermoepidermal junction

Dermoepidermal junction (DEJ) is a structure that unites the epidermis and the dermis, ensuring their strong adhesion and functional interaction.

  • Basement membrane: A thin plate composed of collagen and glycoprotein components that separates the epidermis and dermis.
  • Anchor fibrils: Collagen fibers that attach the basement membrane to the dermis, providing mechanical strength to the connection.

Functions of the DEJ:

  • Mechanical support
  • Transport of substances
  • Regulation of cellular activity
  • Transport of substances
  • Regulation of cellular activity

What components are required for recovery?

  • Amino acids: building blocks for the synthesis of collagen and elastin.
  • Peptides: stimulate cellular activity and regeneration processes.
  • Vitamins: provide antioxidant protection and improve metabolic processes in the skin.
  • Minerals and trace elements: support cellular metabolism and skin health
  • Hyaluronic acid: helps retain water molecules, ensuring skin hydration.
  • Antioxidants: protect cells from free radical damage.
  • Glycerin: enhances moisturizing properties and helps retain moisture in the skin.
  • Polynucleotides: accelerate the processes of regeneration and tissue repair.
  • Coenzymes: participate in the energy metabolism of cells, contributing to their renewal.

Injection biorevitalization

Method of administration: The drug is injected directly into the deep layers of the skin using thin needles or cannulas.
Effectiveness: Provides deep penetration of active substances, which leads to a more pronounced and faster result.
Number of procedures: Usually 2-5 sessions are required with an interval of 2-4 weeks to achieve the desired effect.
Advantages: Fast results, possibility of spot treatment on problem areas.
Disadvantages: Possible discomfort, small bruises or papules after the procedure; recovery time is needed.

Non-injection biorevitalization

Method of administration: Active ingredients are delivered into the skin using microneedling devices without disrupting the integrity of the skin. Chemical peels. Facial procedures.
Effectiveness: Less deep penetration compared to the injection method; the effect may be less pronounced and require more procedures.
Number of procedures: Usually 5-10 sessions are required with a frequency of 1-2 times a week to achieve the desired result.
Advantages: Painlessness, no scars and no recovery period after the procedure.
Disadvantages: More treatments may be required to achieve the same effect; less pronounced results compared to the injection method.

The role of non-injection methods in modern cosmetology

  • Non-injection methods are safe and effective
  • Minimal risk, fast recovery
  • Convenience of use
  • Natural results
  • Can stay socially active

Non-injection biorevitalization methods

  • Microneedling (dermapen, mesoroller; needle length 0.25-1.5 mm depending on the treatment area)
  • Acid peels
  • Device-based techniques (without damaging the integrity of the skin)
  • Facial procedures (restoration of the skinโ€™s water balance + skin lipid mantle)

Microneedling

Mechanism of triggering processes in skin cells during microneedling:

1. Injury and inflammation phase

  • Mechanical skin damage (microchannels into which the mesococktail penetrates, microruptures of collagen and elastin fibers)
  • Activation of the inflammatory response (release of cytokines: interleukins and tumor necrosis factors) + immune system cells are activated (macrophages, neutrophils)
  • Release of growth factors (Platelets secrete growth factors (TGF-ฮฒ, PDGF, VEGF), which trigger tissue regeneration)

2. Proliferation phase (1-7 days after the procedure):

  • Fibroblast activation (Fibroblasts migrate to damaged areas and begin to actively produce collagen, mainly young collagen type III, elastin and hyaluronic acid)
  • Neoangiogenesis (due to vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF))
  • Increased cellular activity (active division of keratinocytes, filling microchannels)

3. Remodeling phase (4-6 weeks):

  • Collagen maturation:
  • Type III collagen is gradually replaced by stronger type I collagen.
  • The dermal matrix is โ€‹โ€‹strengthened, the skin becomes more elastic and dense.
  • Inflammation reduction:
  • Inflammatory processes are completed, the skin restores barrier functions.
  • Tissue regeneration:
  • Fine wrinkles, scars and stretch marks are eliminated due to the renewal of the dermis.

Results of the procedure:

Improvement of skin texture
Increase in elasticity and hydration
Evens out skin tone
Narrowing of pores

Apply a sterile mesococktail, water-based, to the skin + exposure to short pulses of electric current, which temporarily open aquaporins in cell membranes, allowing active substances to penetrate into the deeper layers of the skin.

Biorevitalizing peels

Mechanism that triggers cellular processes during chemical peels:

  • Chemical skin damage: causes denaturation of proteins in cells, dissolves intercellular junctions, damages epidermal cells
  • Initiation of inflammatory response: activates immune response. Macrophages and neutrophils migrate to the site of injury. Inflammatory mediators (cytokines, prostaglandins) are released, which leads to swelling, redness and pain
  • Activation of growth factors: Local skin damage initiates the release of growth factors, such as TGF-ฮฒ (transforming growth factor beta), PDGF (platelet-derived growth factor), which stimulate tissue regeneration and healing

PROLIFERATION PHASE + REMODELING PHASE ARE SIMILAR
